BRANDL TALOS has advised Vienna-based precision medicine company aitiologic on its EUR 6.4 million seed financing round. The significantly oversubscribed financing was co-led by Heal Capital and Ananda Impact Ventures. Existing investors PUSH and LANA Ventures continued their support, alongside experienced biotech founders. Dr. Gordon Sanghera CBE FRS, co-founder and former CEO of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, also participated in the round as an investor and joined aitiologic’s advisory board.
aitiologic develops tissue-resolved liquid biopsy solutions based on its proprietary aitios® platform, which combines genomic, epigenomic and fragmentomic information from circulating cell-free DNA with AI-powered interpretation. The company’s lead program focuses on identifying the risk of preeclampsia from a routine first-trimester blood sample, with broader potential applications in precision medicine, patient stratification and disease monitoring.
The new funding will support the further development and large-scale clinical validation of the aitios® platform, including aitiologic’s ongoing preeclampsia validation study with the Fetal Medicine Foundation, as well as regulated product development.
The BRANDL TALOS deal team advising aitiologic on this deal consisted of Stephan Strass, Roman Rericha, Markus Reinfeld and Alyssa Nimmervoll.
Heal Capital was advised by CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz (Georg Gutfleisch), Ananda Impact Ventures was advised by POELLATH (Philipp von Braunschweig).
