BRANDL TALOS advises Sportradar Group on the Acquisition of Synergy Sports

Alongside Latham Watkins (USA), BRANDL TALOS advised its long-standing client Sportradar Group, a global leader of sports data and content delivery, on its acquisition of Synergy Sports, a pioneer in automated sports technology solutions and the market leader in data and video analytics in the US college and professional sports space.

This is already the second transaction by Sportradar this year in which BRANDL TALOS supported the Sportradar deal team as trusted legal adviser.

The acquisition complements and extends Sportradar’s product suite and supports its drive to deepen and broaden its relationships with key sports organizations globally. While Sportradar is the official partner of the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB already, Synergy Sports has, amongst others, league-wide relationships with the NBA and MLB and a partnership with FIBA.

The acquisition is anticipated to close in Q2/2021, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

Latham Watkins acted as US counsel to Sportradar and Niederer Kraft Frey advised on the Swiss law aspects of the deal. The sell side was represented by DLA Piper and Schellenberg Wittmer.
